    "The Third World" was the first album Gato Barbieri recorded under his deal with Flying Dutchman Records in the late '60s, and it's an amazing piece of work. Prior to this, Gato had been playing avant-garde, free jazz with folks like Don Cherry. There was not a trace of Latin influence in the music he recorded during that earlier period.5/5(13).
